Sentiment on the Robinhood Chain: The Strongest Playbook May Be in the Making
Today, $CASHCAT, the leading token on the Robinhood chain, hit an all-time high market cap of $240 million, drawing increasing attention to on-chain market movements.
To be fair, with BTC and ETH performing so strongly, and even Machi Big Brother—who has long been the subject of jokes—turning $150,000 into $12.72 million in just 3 days by going long on ETH, the surge in attention to on-chain activity is hardly surprising.
Therefore, this article aims to summarize and analyze the recent on-chain landscape—what stage is the market actually in? What are the possible reasons behind certain phenomena? And should we remain optimistic about the on-chain market going forward?
The On-Chain Market Is Actually Lagging Behind the Broader Market
For players who've stuck with on-chain trading, it's felt like there have been significantly more opportunities since last week. These broad opportunities include "cat" coins across various chains rallying—Robinhood's $CASHCAT, Base's $BASECAT, Solana's $CATE, and so on. Good opportunities have also emerged on less-watched chains, such as $FOLD, a privacy project on the ETH mainnet backed by Vitalik, and $egg, a meme coin on HyperEVM.
There are more opportunities, but that doesn't mean it's easy to make money, because the assets mentioned above aren't exactly fresh plays. In fact, the rally since last week has largely revolved around relatively "older" tokens, without producing those explosive, fast-rising new gems. So, in terms of how easy it is to make money, it really depends on what positions individual players hold.
For instance, is $MarsCoin on BSC a good play? Yes—the US stock meme concept is solid, and the support from Binance Alpha is a plus. But its price performance since last week hasn't been impressive.
How do we explain why "older" tokens are outperforming newer launches? I believe this indicates that the on-chain market is still lagging behind the broader market at this stage. Because the strength of BTC and ETH's rally has caught nearly everyone off guard, sentiment and capital haven't yet fully transmitted to on-chain new launches. But for tokens that have historically enjoyed strong communities and capital support, some funds may be testing market sentiment with cautious moves. Combined with the market recognition these tokens already have, it's the older assets that are starting to rise first.
This lack of consensus isn't just limited to on-chain meme coins—it applies to other altcoins as well. That's why we see BTC and ETH holding firm, while some coins feel like they're taking the opportunity to distribute and exit, and others have posted decent gains but nothing extreme—still far from all-time highs, more like a tentative probe.
The Strongest Playbook May Be in the Making
If the broader market continues to hold steady or even show strength, the on-chain market can't even be said to have "started" yet. Bitcoin at $80,000 isn't exactly high, and it still needs to withstand a longer-term test.
Under current market conditions, optimism about the on-chain market stems from a few key factors.
First, meme coins have been repositioned at this stage. During the $DOGE and $SHIB era, meme coins were a novel narrative within the crypto space—not unlike CryptoPunks in the NFT world. At first, no one understood why they could rally to the moon; it only became clear once the gains were already in. Then came the pump.fun era, where the asset issuance and trading models of meme coins underwent massive changes, and the innovation at the base level allowed everyone to profit from capturing attention.
Now, exchanges and public chains are gradually realizing that meme coins are the asset class most capable of attracting incremental users. As Solana's CPO Vibhu put it, "Meme coins are the best and only crypto use case that appeals to the mainstream, and they generate the vast majority of cryptocurrency profits."

Even though, driven by compliance, public chains and exchanges are aiming for bigger business by moving traditional finance on-chain, they still need traction to scale up. In this context, meme coins—which have already become a stable business within crypto—are a sector no one can afford to ignore.
In the old days, things moved slowly, and it took a long time for a major "golden dog" to emerge—that's because the meme coin industry wasn't mature enough. Now, everything has changed.
Second, meme coins have never received such positive validation, especially after the emergence of the US stock meme model. Vlad, CEO of Robinhood, recently mentioned and endorsed US stock memes again on The Iced Coffee Hour podcast: "If you hold a certain meme coin, you get tokenized US stock airdrops. This unique mechanism links meme coins with US stocks—it's a distinct asset class we'd never thought of before."
Vlad also noted that before Robinhood, roughly 50% of American households held stocks, and Robinhood has pushed that figure to 65%. Going forward, tokenization is a key lever to drive equity ownership to 95%, while making high-quality US stocks and other RWA assets easier to distribute globally.
Although Vlad didn't explicitly say US stock memes would push ownership to 95%, this still elevates the US stock meme narrative—a hybrid asset that appeals more to younger generations, allowing people to accumulate US stock exposure while playing. Even now, there are already many on-chain players who had never traded US stocks before, but now hold them through trading meme coins.
When asked about US stock memes, CZ also gave a fairly positive assessment: "US stock memes are a novel and interesting concept, but issuers need to ensure they fulfill their obligations."

A sector that can earn validation from both Vlad and CZ, yet hasn't produced a single asset exceeding $100 million in market cap—there's enormous potential here.
Finally, CZ followed Vlad yesterday, and Vlad commented on one of Musk's Mars-related tweets, ending with "See you on Mars." This move opens up huge room for imagination—what if Binance and Robinhood start listing each other's tokens, with Binance listing $CASHCAT and Robinhood listing $MarsCoin?
The strongest playbook since the Trump coin may be in the making. After over a year of bear market torment, the market isn't short of quality assets. Whether in terms of community or narrative, the tokens that are still alive have already passed enough tests—all that's missing is a spark to ignite it all.
This altcoin season will also see dramatic changes compared to the past. We can observe shifts at the meme coin level, but many changes remain unpredictable and hard to capture. It's precisely this uncertainty that makes me highly optimistic about the market ahead—regardless of whether we've succeeded or failed in past cycles over the years, this time, we may soon find ourselves back at the starting line of a golden era once again.
