Trump's approval rating slips as Americans worry about economy
Odaily News A Reuters/Ipsos poll found that U.S. President Donald Trump's approval rating has fallen slightly in recent days as more Americans worry about the direction of the U.S. economy and Trump threatens to impose tariffs on many countries. The six-day poll ended on Tuesday, with 44% of respondents approving of Trump's job, down from 45% in the January 24-26 poll. In the latest poll, the proportion of Americans who disapprove of President Trump's job has risen sharply to 51%, compared with just 41% when he first took office. Trump's immigration policy has received relatively high approval, with 47% of respondents supporting his policies, including his promise to increase deportations of illegal immigrants. This proportion has not changed much from January. But in the latest survey, the proportion of Americans who think the economy is on the wrong track rose from 43% to 53%.
