Odaily Planet Daily News: ZKsync has announced it will officially deprecate ZKsync Lite on May 4. At that time, block production will cease, and the network's final state will be permanently frozen. ZKsync Lite was originally launched under the name ZKsync 1.0 in June 2020 and was considered Ethereum's first zero-knowledge proof rollup, but it did not support smart contract functionality. Matter Labs stopped development on Lite after launching the zkEVM ZKsync Era, which supports arbitrary smart contracts, in March 2023.
The team stated that this deprecation does not affect Era or other chains built on the ZK Stack framework. A read-only API will be preserved for at least one year after the shutdown to support data access. Users are advised to withdraw assets before May 4; any unwithdrawn funds can still be claimed afterward.
According to L2BEAT data, approximately $33.9 million in assets currently remain on ZKsync Lite via the canonical bridge. This includes approximately $24.9 million in stablecoins, $8.4 million in ETH and derivatives, $313,000 in BTC and derivatives, and $231,000 in other assets.
CME Group Plans to List AVAX and Sui Futures Contracts on May 4, 24/7 Trading Supported from May 29

New products include AVAX futures (contract size: 5,000 AVAX) and Micro AVAX futures (500 AVAX), as well as SUI futures (50,000 SUI) and Micro SUI futures (5,000 SUI), offering different contract sizes for institutions and individuals. Roundhill has submitted an updated filing to the US Securities and Exchange Commission, intending to make its six prediction market ETFs effective on May 5.
