Web3 gaming is still in its early days, but is growing rapidly. These games are coming, but many of these projects are still in the early stages of development. They only got funding in the last year or so and it will take some time to get to the public version. Many of these games are expected to release alpha or beta versions in the first quarter of 2023. Looking at it this way, 2023 could be a big year for Web3 games.
Below I will introduce 12 upcoming Web3 games in 2023. (The following order does not represent any ranking, and some of the games below may only have Alpha/Beta releases in the coming year.)
1. AIFA League: The Artificial Intelligence Football League (AIFA) uses AI-trained brains to play 4-on-4 football (soccer).
2. Civitas: Civitas is an MMO cross-platform (PC, mobile, web) civilization simulator that allows anyone to build a complete virtual civilization from scratch and enjoy their construction in AR.
3. Deaddrop: Deaddrop is the first game Midnight Society is building, and Dr. Disrespect is its co-founder. This is a vertical escape shooter (VES) that combines the level design of a shooter, battle royale, and the strategic gameplay of an escape shooter.
4. Indus: Indus is a AAA first-person shooter (FPS) game developed by SuperGaming.
5. Nor: NOR is a gaming platform. It is a complete universe, with its own history, future, economy and its own laws of nature. Players compete for money and honor here - and of course they face death.
6. Parallel: Parallel, a TCG game created by a team of renowned artists, revolves around a vast sci-fi universe where five factions fight for their homeland. This should be a TCG more complex than Hearthstone, but easier to learn than Magic: The Gathering. The Parallel franchise has demonstrated extraordinary storytelling capabilities through their trading cards (NFTs), AR apps, comics, and short films produced like Prime is Everything.

7. Petaverse: Petaverse is redefining the way we think about digital pets, using cutting-edge mixed reality technology to bring your digital pets into your 3D environment.
8. Planet Mojo: Based on Planet Mojo, Mojo Melee is an auto chess fighting game. We need to rely on our own wisdom and strategy to defeat our opponents. The game is already in private beta, and if you join Planet Mojo's Discord, you can play for free on select days of the week.
9. Sipher: Sipher is a multiplayer loot-shooter ARPG set in a fantasy universe filled with alien worlds, characters, and dangerous mysteries.
10. The Citadel: The Citadel is a 2D multiplayer space exploration strategy game set in a persistent world on the Ethereum blockchain. Players drive the spaceship NFT across the interstellar map, looking for $ORE tokens in the distant asteroid belt, playing as a treasure hunting space miner or a murderous marauder.
11. Shrapnel: Shrapnel is an upcoming AAA FPS powered by next-gen community-driven tools built on the blockchain to provide true ownership. The team has a highly pure gaming pedigree, with members from Emmy Award-winning games Westworld, Halo and Call of Duty.
