In early 2024, German police seized 49,858 Bitcoins from the operators of the pirated movie website Movie 2 K. In July 2024, the government sold these Bitcoins for $2.89 billion, at an average price of $57,900. Currently, it appears that Movie 2 K's wallet still holds over 45,000 Bitcoins, nearly matching the amount seized and worth $5 billion.
