Venture fund Colosseum announced the results of the 9th Solana Foundation Hackathon Solana Renaissance on the evening of May 6. This highly anticipated competition attracted more than 8,300 participants from more than 95 countries and regions, and a total of 1,071 projects were submitted. Only 34 projects successfully stood out, with a winning rate of only 3.17%.
Among these winning projects, 5 belong to the blockchain game sector. First Place: Meshmap + City Champ

Meshmap is a project developed by a Japanese team. Meshmap builds a 3D map of the world through 3D scans submitted by the community, and rewards through token incentives (proposed MESH tokens) and games. As the first place in the chain game section of this Solana hackathon, the project received a reward of 30,000 USDC.

As a first proof of concept, Meshmap developed a mixed reality first-person combat and tower defense game City Champ for Meta Quest 2/3/Pro using Unity and Solana. On the one hand, as a player, users need to defend their city against terrifying creatures generated by urban social problems, fight enemies, defend the city core, and collect achievements to win. On the other hand, as a 3D scanner, users can use the built-in LiDAR scanner of their mobile phone to scan the grid, find new game areas, and submit them to MeshMap to increase endless level positioning possibilities.
Although there is very little information about City Champ and the specific game content cannot be experienced, it is still worthy of special attention as the first place in the blockchain game section among the winning projects of Solana’s latest hackathon. It is recommended to pay more attention to the official content updates of City Champ, and at the same time pay attention to whether Meshmap opens new blockchain game projects.
2. Legends of the Sun

Legends of the Sun is a battle arena game where players can compete in 1V1 and 3V3 and 5v5 battles. Gameplay includes various tech trees including swords, crossbows, firearms, magic, and drones. Equipment will be randomly airdropped via loot chests, and the rarity of equipment can be increased by spending in-game currency (a lot). Equipment also has durability, which means that equipment can break and need to be repaired or re-purchased. In addition to equippable equipment, there are also many consumables such as food, potions, and throwables such as grenades. Fully repaired equipment or completely damaged equipment will be traded in the Grand Bazaar as compressed tradable items.

3. Mining Badger Game

Mining Badger Game is an on-chain game made using Honeycomb Protocol that game developers can integrate into their own games.

Moon Boi Universe is a Web3 online fantasy open world role-playing game optimized for mobile devices. Its game token is TNT, which uses the SPL-404 standard on the Solana blockchain to integrate real-world cryptocurrencies with game NFTs. And TNT will become more scarce through a burning mechanism. Currently, the game can only be experienced on mobile Android systems.

5. Maneko

Maneko is a Web 3 electronic pet mobile game with a built-in game launcher. This blockchain game is the most playable one in the award list . The specific operation tutorial is as follows:
