Anthropic Signs $35 Billion Cloud Agreement with Lambda, Nvidia Appears at Every Step

Odaily News: According to sources familiar with the matter, Anthropic has signed a $35 billion cloud computing agreement with Lambda, a cloud provider backed by Nvidia, and Nvidia itself holds the lease on the data center. Sources said Nvidia signed an agreement with Hut 8 several weeks ago to secure computing capacity at the data center.

This complex arrangement once again highlights Nvidia's increasingly important role in helping non-investment-grade companies such as Anthropic gain access to its expensive computing resources. The deal also helps emerging cloud provider Lambda secure a lucrative contract with Anthropic without having to procure data center space on its own. Lambda will use the data center being developed by Hut 8, connecting to chips purchased from Nvidia — which is also an investor in Lambda.

It remains unclear how much Lambda will pay Nvidia for the use of the data center space. After facing a computing supply bottleneck earlier this year, Anthropic has been racing to sign cloud capacity agreements. (The Wall Street Journal)

The Ninth Circuit ruled that Kalshi sports event contracts are not swaps, New Jersey has until September 3 to seek Supreme Court review

Odaily News - The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled 3-0 on August 28 that sports event contracts offered by Kalshi are not swaps, and that the Commodity Exchange Act does not preclude Nevada from applying gambling regulations to the relevant contracts. The court also vacated a prior injunction that allowed Kalshi to continue offering the contracts, and denied injunction requests from Crypto.com and Robinhood.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit ruled in April of this year that Kalshi's related contracts were likely swaps and protected by federal law from state regulation. The two federal appellate courts are now split on the issue, and New Jersey has a September 3 deadline to petition the U.S. Supreme Court for review.

Kalshi said it will seek further review and believes current U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) rules do not prohibit sports event contracts. Robinhood said it plans to appeal; the CFTC, meanwhile, noted that derivatives structured as swaps qualify as swaps, and except for onions and movie box office revenue, the law provides no related exemptions. 监管审查下,Peach Bitcoin暂时暂停免KYC托管模式

Odaily Planet Daily News: Bitcoin News posted on X platform that Peach Bitcoin stated that Swiss regulators are seeking to re-examine the compliance framework of its KYC-free peer-to-peer Bitcoin trading platform, which has been permitted to operate since 2022. Starting September 1, 2026, Peach Bitcoin will temporarily withdraw from the custodial process and adopt a non-custodial model during the appeal period.

Under the temporary model, only users who have completed KYC, been authorized through manual whitelisting, or met transaction record requirements can create sell orders. Sellers who have not completed KYC may only participate in one active transaction at a time. The buy function remains open to all users, with a single transaction limit of 500 Swiss francs and a maximum premium of 6%. The in-app dispute resolution system remains available, but Peach Bitcoin will no longer sign in escrow and will continue to charge a 2% fee on released transactions.

Peach Bitcoin founder @proofofsteph stated that the company will not immediately abandon the KYC-free model and will communicate with regulators regarding its stance; if the appeal ultimately fails, the company will comply with the regulatory decision.

BIP-110 minority chain restarts, switching to Blake2b and reducing block size to 300 KB

Odaily News: The BIP-110 community restarted the stalled minority fork chain this weekend, which had stalled on August 8. The chain has mined over 800 blocks. Blockchain developer Luke Dashjr switched the proof-of-work algorithm from SHA-256d to Blake2b and reduced the block size to 300 KB.

The BIP-110 minority chain forked at Bitcoin block height 961,632, then stalled; at height 961,640, Silent Wave mined a block under the new Blake2b consensus rules. The project is expected to release new software on September 1.

The fork chain's asset has not been listed on any centralized exchange, and CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap have not displayed its token code either. BIP-110 developer Chris Guida stated that the chain does not use centralized KYC exchanges, advocating for the acquisition and use of Bitcoin through the trading of goods and services. Former U.S. Representative George Santos banned for life from Kalshi and fined $71,400 for manipulating his own prediction market appearances

Odaily News The prediction market platform Kalshi has permanently banned former U.S. Representative George Santos and fined him $71,400. Kalshi determined that he manipulated markets related to whether he would attend the State of the Union address, profiting $17,800 from the scheme.

In a disciplinary notice issued on August 28, Kalshi's compliance department stated that Santos made multiple large trades in the relevant markets between February 2 and 25. Since he could influence the market outcome, platform rules prohibited him from trading in that market; he subsequently made false or misleading statements regarding his attendance plans in an attempt to influence the prices of the "Yes" and "No" contracts.

Kalshi determined that the statements were intended to manipulate prices and did cause price movements, resulting in violations of rules against market manipulation, trading on event outcomes, and fraudulent manipulation. He was also penalized for failing to cooperate with the investigation. This penalty marks the first time Kalshi has issued a lifetime ban against a former member of Congress. (Decrypt)

CLARITY Act passage probability drops to 13% this year, Senate procedural vote set for September 15

Odaily News Prediction market platform Polymarket shows that the implied probability of the CLARITY Act passing and becoming law in 2026 is 13%, with related contract trading volume of approximately $11.5 million, a significant decline from the 82% priced by the market in February.

The U.S. Senate plans to hold a procedural vote on the bill on September 15. The motion to invoke cloture to start the vote was filed by Majority Leader John Thune and typically requires 60 votes. Prediction market platform Kalshi puts the probability of a Senate vote occurring before October 1 at 91%, with related market trading volume exceeding $1.25 million.

The CLARITY Act aims to establish a federal regulatory framework for crypto markets, with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) exclusively regulating spot digital commodity markets, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) overseeing certain securities offerings and exchange activities. The bill still faces disagreements over conflicts of interest between officials and the crypto industry, stablecoin yields, and protections for decentralized finance and non-custodial software developers. Zano's sixth hard fork goes live, native ZANO enables non-custodial cross-chain transfers to Ethereum, Solana, and TON

Odaily Planet Daily News Privacy-focused public chain Zano activated its sixth hard fork (HF6) at block height 3,833,000 on August 31. The upgrade is now live on the mainnet, marking the largest upgrade in the network's seven-year history.

HF6 introduces Gateway Addresses, providing centralized exchanges, DEXs, and cross-chain bridges with directly trackable single balances and instant synchronization, while preserving existing addresses and their privacy model. Native ZANO can now be transferred non-custodially across chains to Ethereum, Solana, and TON, where it becomes public on external networks, and privacy protection is restored upon transferring back to Zano.

The upgrade also tightens consensus validation rules and enhances wallet encryption, mining pool fault tolerance, payment IDs, anti-DoS restrictions, SOCKS5 proxy, and RPC interfaces.

HF6 is a prerequisite for the EVM-compatible chain Zano Execution Layer, which is currently in development and has no fixed launch date yet; the next-generation consensus protocol Zenith has been included in the 2027 roadmap. (Bitcoin.com News)
