Odaily News: Bitcoin fell back to around $83,600 on Friday, down about 1% from the previous trading day, after briefly touching around $87,000, reaching that level for the first time in months. Market analysis suggests that the expiry of $1.56 billion in Bitcoin options on Deribit may have exacerbated short-term volatility, as market makers typically unwind their hedging positions after options expiry.
Over the past 24 hours, BTC open interest and trading volume fell by 14.39% and 13.68% respectively, with long and short liquidations relatively balanced—long liquidations totaled $161.96 million and short liquidations $156.1 million—indicating that leveraged funds are readjusting. On the technical side, BTC's 50-day moving average remains above its 200-day moving average, forming a "golden cross," and the short-term trend is still viewed as relatively strong.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin spot ETFs saw net inflows of $299.09 million on Friday, though this was lower than the single-day inflow levels seen earlier in the week. By contrast, XRP rose 4.37% over the past 24 hours and 15.45% over the past 7 days, currently trading at around $1.58; Solana rose 3.36% over the past 24 hours and 9.33% over the past 7 days, currently trading at around $119.84. The next macro data points the market is watching are the U.S. Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) inflation data due on September 30 and the September nonfarm payrolls report due on October 2. Odaily News: Anthropic is seeking shareholder approval for a new equity structure that would grant special shares to CEO Dario Amodei and six other co-founders, giving the seven individuals a combined 50.1% voting power over most company matters. This arrangement would be maintained as long as at least three founders continue to hold a minimum percentage of shares. The structure resembles the founder super-voting rights model adopted by tech companies such as Palantir, designed to help the founding team retain control after the company's IPO.
Reports indicate that Anthropic's seven co-founders currently each hold approximately 2% of the company's shares. The new shares carry no additional economic rights and only confer higher voting power. Additionally, Anthropic's long-term benefit trust will retain the power to elect a majority of board members, the number of founder board seats will increase from 2 to 3, and employees will also gain voting rights to break deadlocks on certain matters. Odaily reports that ARK analyst Lorenzo Valente posted on X platform stating that Uniswap completed approximately 140 million transactions in August this year, surpassing the combined total of two trading platforms, Cboe BZX and NYSE American. NYSE American has been operating since 1908, while Uniswap launched in 2018; five years ago, Uniswap's monthly transaction count was only about 2 million.
Valente noted that by transaction count, Uniswap's next target to catch up with is NYSE Arca, which completed approximately 232 million transactions in August.
Odaily News: Stablecoin issuer Tether stated that its exposure to EQIBank, a Dominica-licensed bank whose assets were seized by U.S. authorities, accounts for less than 0.034% of the group's total assets. Based on Tether's total group assets of $187.75 billion disclosed in June of this year, its maximum exposure to EQIBank is approximately $64 million. However, Tether did not disclose the specific amount and stated that it was previously unaware of the actions of U.S. payment processor Capstone as alleged by the U.S. Department of Justice.
According to court documents, EQIBank held and transferred customer funds through Capstone, with the relevant funds deposited in accounts at Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase. U.S. prosecutors have seized the funds in these accounts and filed a civil forfeiture lawsuit, alleging that Capstone misrepresented the nature of its business to the banks. EQIBank claims that approximately $89 million in assets were seized, equivalent to about 80% of its monetary assets, and it may face liquidation as a result. EQIBank previously provided banking services to Tether, including processing wire transfers related to USDT purchases and redemptions.
Tether's disclosure does not currently indicate a direct threat to its USDT reserves or dollar peg, but it highlights the counterparty risks stablecoin issuers face when accessing and redeeming funds through fiat channels such as banks and payment processors. (CoinDesk)
Odaily reports that former New York Governor and OKX board member Andrew Cuomo stated that tokenization of US financial markets is accelerating, and the regulatory system needs to keep pace with technological and market developments. On September 17, the SEC introduced a five-year interim "innovation exemption" framework, allowing eligible on-chain trading platforms to trade tokenized stocks of certain US-listed companies under specific conditions.
The framework requires trading platform participants to obtain licenses. Tokenized stocks grant investors the same rights and benefits as traditional stocks, with smart contracts audited and deployed on public chains; when the underlying stock is suspended from trading, the corresponding tokenized stock must also cease trading. On September 15, the US Senate failed to advance the Digital Asset Market Structure Act, and comprehensive digital asset regulatory legislation remains contentious.
Odaily reports that Liquid Capital founder Yi Lihua posted on X: "The market has risen to the $86,000 resistance level and faces a normal pullback, but in a bull market, be bearish without shorting, and patiently wait for the next long opportunity. In terms of specific opportunities, ETH is stronger, and trading Infra assets such as UNI and HYPE are seeing their essential demand recognized, along with ZEC, an asset with strong whale backing."
Odaily: "White-Haired Stock Guru" Serenity posted on X platform, stating that people should not only focus on the 5% yield on 10-year or 30-year US Treasuries. Citing a Subway sandwich as an example, the price has risen from about $5 to about $20 after tax over 12 years, equivalent to an average annual increase of about 12%. Serenity suggested that if one wants to hedge against inflation, they should use equity assets such as the S&P 500 ETF (SPY) to address inflation related to daily life.
Odaily reports that Bitget CEO Gray Chen posted on X platform that following the security incident, on-chain tracking confirmed the attacker's address received a total of $387.5 million in assets, revised upward from the previously disclosed $351.6 million.
Gray Chen stated that the revised amount incorporates Zcash and TRON assets that were not fully accounted for previously, and does not represent newly stolen funds. No unauthorized transfers have occurred since the incident, and the situation remains under control. Bitget has launched a Recovery Bounty Program, offering a 5% bounty to each party that voluntarily assists in freezing the attacker's funds or recovering the funds. The exchange has also launched a real-time tracking dashboard, an information submission portal, and an attacker address API, while supporting reports submitted through Bybit's Lazarus Bounty platform. Bitget is currently making full preparations to resume withdrawals, with a specific withdrawal plan to be announced before 4:00 AM (UTC) on September 26.
Odaily News: Bitget has announced the establishment of a "Recovery Bounty Program," mobilizing exchanges, blockchain projects, security researchers, investigators, and the on-chain community to assist in freezing and recovering affected assets. Under the program, successfully frozen funds will be eligible for a reward of 5% of the frozen amount to qualified participants who directly facilitated the freeze, and successfully recovered funds will likewise be eligible for a reward of 5% of the recovered amount. Bitget will also use Bybit's Lazarus Bounty program as a core channel to support this bounty and recovery effort. Actions taken through court orders, law enforcement requests, or other legal proceedings are not eligible for rewards. Final reward eligibility, contribution determination, and amounts shall be determined by Bitget.

Odaily reports that the European Banking Authority (EBA) has published its response to the MiCA revision consultation, recommending that the EU strengthen regulation of third-country multi-issuer stablecoins, crypto asset classification, and crypto lending, and bring within the regulatory scope the activities of crypto service providers that facilitate user access to DeFi lending protocols.
The EBA considers that the current regulatory framework for asset-referenced tokens and e-money tokens is generally appropriate, but that multi-issuer stablecoins may pose higher risks, and that rules should be strengthened and reserve asset requirements reviewed. As of September 1, 39 e-money tokens have been issued under the MiCA framework, while no asset-referenced tokens have yet been authorized.
