"White-Haired Stock Guru" Serenity Slams US Inflation: Treasury Yields Can't Keep Up with Burger Price Increases, Equities Should Be Used as a Hedge
Odaily: "White-Haired Stock Guru" Serenity posted on X platform, stating that people should not only focus on the 5% yield on 10-year or 30-year US Treasuries. Citing a Subway sandwich as an example, the price has risen from about $5 to about $20 after tax over 12 years, equivalent to an average annual increase of about 12%. Serenity suggested that if one wants to hedge against inflation, they should use equity assets such as the S&P 500 ETF (SPY) to address inflation related to daily life.
