The injunction only covers the plaintiffs' tribal lands, and a California federal court has barred Kalshi from offering sports prediction contracts
Odaily reports that on November 4, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California granted a preliminary injunction requested by plaintiffs including Blue Lake Rancheria, prohibiting the prediction market platform Kalshi and its affiliated entity KalshiEX from offering any sports-related event contracts within the boundaries of the plaintiffs' Indian lands. The court required the plaintiffs to provide Kalshi with relevant land boundary maps no later than November 13, and Kalshi must submit an execution status report to the court within 21 days after the injunction is issued. The injunction applies only to the plaintiffs' Indian lands and is not a comprehensive ban on Kalshi's sports prediction market business in California or across the United States.
