每年最高节省38亿美元,韩元稳定币可降低韩国商户支付手续费
Odaily News reports that an analysis by the South Korean National Assembly Budget Office shows that a Korean won-pegged stablecoin could save South Korean merchants approximately $275 million to $3.8 billion annually in payment processing fees. The report notes that USD stablecoins account for 98.8% of the global $312.3 billion stablecoin market, and a Korean won stablecoin could offer merchants a domestic alternative. The Budget Office warned that the outflow of funds from bank deposits could weaken banks' credit intermediation role, and large-scale redemptions could force issuers to sell off reserve assets, potentially causing the stablecoin to depeg and undermining market confidence. The Budget Office called for the establishment of reserve requirements, restrictions on stablecoin yields, and stronger oversight of tokens that could threaten financial stability. South Korea plans to expand tokenized securities in February 2027, and subsequently connect the blockchain securities market with stablecoin payment infrastructure.
