Japanese crypto exchange Coincheck acquires French-regulated digital asset broker Aplo
5hours ago

Odaily Planet Daily reports that Japanese cryptocurrency exchange Coincheck has acquired Aplo, a French digital asset broker regulated by the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF). Coincheck Group stated that the acquisition will support its expansion into the European market. The transaction is expected to close in October 2025, with all outstanding Aplo shares converting into newly issued common shares of Coincheck Group.

Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Tokyo, Coincheck's holding company, Coincheck Group NV, went public on the Nasdaq last year through a merger with Thunder Bridge Capital Partners IV (THCP), a SPAC. Aplo is currently registered as a digital asset service provider in France and is applying for a full cryptoasset service provider license under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Directive (MiCA). Coincheck previously launched "Coincheck Prime," a service for institutional and corporate clients. (CoinDesk)
