Odaily Planet Daily reported that U.S. Commerce Secretary Lutnick wrote: "The United States now holds a 10% stake in Intel, one of the top technology companies in the United States. This historic agreement will consolidate the United States' leading position in the semiconductor field, which will not only promote economic growth but also help ensure the United States' technological advantage. I thank Intel CEO Lip-Mo Chen for reaching this fair and reasonable agreement for both Intel and the American people."

Intel stated that the U.S. government purchased 433.3 million shares of common stock at $20.47 per share, representing a total investment of approximately $8.9 billion and a 10% stake. Intel noted that this price was below the market price at the time. Intel (INTC.US) stock closed up 5.53% at $24.80, with trading volume of $4.785 billion.
