EU spokesman: EU still hopes to avoid tariffs

Odaily News The European Union still wants to avoid a trade war with the United States, even though the Trump administration has rejected Brussels' proposal to impose "zero-to-zero" tariffs on all industrial products, an EU spokesman said on Tuesday. White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said on Monday that if the EU wants to reach an agreement, it needs to reduce non-tariff barriers, including those caused by value-added tax and food safety regulations.
