U.S. government efficiency department: U.S. tax code urgently needs to be simplified

Odaily News The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) said in a post on X: “In 1955, the U.S. tax code was less than 1.5 million words. Today, the code is more than 16 million words. Because of this complexity, Americans spend a total of 6.5 billion hours each year preparing and filing their taxes. It needs to be simplified.”
