Pantera Capital survey: Women in the cryptocurrency industry earn 15% more than men

Odaily News According to the latest salary survey conducted by Pantera Research Lab, a rare "reverse" gender pay gap has emerged in the cryptocurrency industry. The survey found that the median salary of female cryptocurrency practitioners working full-time in the United States is $172,000, while that of men is $150,000, and women's salaries are nearly 15% higher than men. This result is in stark contrast to the gender pay gap that is prevalent in traditional industries. In non-cryptocurrency companies, women typically earn $1.19 for every $1 they make. The survey data comes from a sampling of 502 full-time employees in the United States between June 4 and July 20, 2024, collected through professional network channels such as LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), and email. The study found that women have an average work experience of 5.3 years in cryptocurrency companies, higher than men's 4.5 years, which may partly explain the salary difference. In addition, women account for a larger proportion of mid- and senior-level positions, while more men occupy entry-level positions. However, the researchers also emphasized that women may still face some obstacles and challenges in the industry. According to a report by Forex Suggest, only 3 of the CEOs of the 50 leading cryptocurrency companies in 2023 will be women. Despite this, both men and women working in the cryptocurrency industry generally earn higher salaries than most other industries.
