Recently, I've been entirely focused on researching big opportunities in the World Cup prediction market, completely missing an even bigger one lurking in the on-chain corners. Yesterday, Solana Meme saw its first rapid pump in a while — ANSEM. In the early hours of yesterday, ANSEM's market cap was only around $4 million; within less than a day, it broke $100 million, and currently stands at about $97 million.

Stories of overnight riches quickly flooded the feeds.
According to Lookonchain monitoring, a "smart money" wallet spent 56.4 SOL (approximately $4,050) 10 days ago to buy 25.99 million ANSEM. Following ANSEM's surge, yesterday it sold all its holdings, receiving 7,649 SOL (worth about $539,000), a gain of over 135 times.
Why did ANSEM suddenly skyrocket? What exactly is its relationship with the well-known KOL Ansem? Can it lift other Meme coins? Odaily will explain everything below.
Does It Matter if Ansem Issued ANSEM?
Many people's first reaction to ANSEM's surge yesterday was: Did Ansem issue this coin himself?
The answer is no.
Ansem, real name Zion Thomas, is one of the most representative KOLs in the Solana Meme circle. During the last Meme craze, keywords like WIF, small Solana coins, early pumps, and on-chain bullish sentiment were all closely tied to him. For many Solana players, Ansem is not just a KOL; he's more like the "King of Solana Memes."
But ANSEM is not a token he issued.
ANSEM, full name The Black Bull, is a community Meme on the Solana ecosystem. It was neither issued nor endorsed by Ansem himself; in fact, the description specifically emphasizes that this token has no official association with Ansem.
However, in the Meme market, "relationships" aren't confirmed by official statements; they are shouted into existence by the community. With the name ANSEM out there, people naturally associate it with Ansem. As long as the community is willing to create content, memes, and narratives around this name, ANSEM will automatically be categorized as an Ansem-related Meme.
More cleverly, ANSEM's theme is called The Black Bull. This name effectively captures the sentiment of Meme players. The black bull doesn't represent a specific product but rather the market impression Ansem has always conveyed: bullish on Solana, bold in chasing Memes, unafraid of volatility — like a black bull standing in the on-chain trenches.
ANSEM didn't stop at just its name. The creator sent approximately 65% of ANSEM's total supply to Ansem's public wallet, forcibly linking this coin to Ansem himself through on-chain holdings.
But the real reason ANSEM surged 190x within a day was Ansem's X post hitting the most sensitive nerve of Solana Meme players — with the PUMP airdrop taking too long, he decided to give back to the on-chain players himself.
Waiting in Vain for the PUMP Airdrop, the Market Pins Its Hopes on ANSEM
ANSEM started to attract concentrated attention from large capital after Ansem's statement regarding Pump.fun creator fees.
He posted on X saying, "I have no plans to issue a personal token for now, but I will take the creator fees from my Pump.fun personal page and use them for random weekly airdrops to fans." It is reported that Ansem's creator fee income from last week alone was approximately $200,000.

This statement precisely hit the sentiment gap left by the PUMP airdrop.
Pump.fun made a lot of money, and PUMP has been launched, but the airdrop many early users were hoping for has yet to arrive. Now, Ansem saying he will redistribute his Pump.fun income back to on-chain players is easily interpreted by the market as something simpler: What PUMP didn't give, Ansem will.
This brought ANSEM back to the forefront. It was no longer just an Ansem-related Meme; it became the most direct trading vehicle for the sentiment that "Ansem is giving back to on-chain players."
More importantly, Ansem's continued interactions on X yesterday regarding Solana Meme, Pump.fun, and market sentiment allowed this association to further ferment.

The Meme "Vibe" is Back, But Don't Forget It's Sentiment-Driven
The reason ANSEM flooded the internet yesterday is simply because its rise was fast and fierce enough. It's been a long time since a Solana ecosystem Meme rapidly pumped to a billion-dollar market cap in a single day, and even longer since we saw stories of "$1,000 turning into $100,000" flooding the feeds.
Of course, the speed of ANSEM's price surge is also related to the token's distribution structure. The creator sent about 65% of the total ANSEM supply to Ansem's public wallet, effectively placing most of the chips in an address watched by the entire market. With fewer tokens actually available for external trading, concentrated buying pressure can push the price up more easily.
ANSEM captured the sentiment left by the unfulfilled PUMP airdrop and channeled the pent-up energy of Solana Meme players who hadn't seen a major rally in a long time. ANSEM's current rise is still primarily driven by sentiment, consensus, and attention. Whether Ansem will continue to engage, whether the community heat can persist, and whether top addresses will sell are all uncertain factors. Especially with a low actual circulating supply, what goes up fast can come down even faster.
As for how long this sentiment can burn, it depends on whether the community can continue to tell the story, and whether later entrants are willing to keep paying for it.
