Odaily News: On the afternoon of July 14th, Elon Musk and a team of 12 from xAI publicly answered questions on Twitter for the first time. OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman and former CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, also listened to the live session as audience members.



During the discussion, Musk mentioned that his new company "definitely will compete with OpenAI" and provide more competitive alternatives to Microsoft, Google, and OpenAI products in the field of AGI (Artificial General Intelligence). However, he mentioned that xAI is still in the "embryonic stage" and it will take time to catch up with OpenAI and Google. In terms of AI model training, they will utilize public data instead of private data.



Musk described the fundamental mission of xAI as "What the hell is really going on in this world?" xAI plans to build a super-intelligent AI that can help solve complex scientific and mathematical problems and "understand" the universe.



Musk stated that OpenAI's initial goal was to be open-source and nonprofit, but ironically, due to "fate liking irony," OpenAI became closed-source and "greedy for profits." Regarding AI computing power, Musk mentioned that they also need computing power support, although it may be slightly less than other companies.



During the live session, Musk repeatedly mentioned AI safety regulation, as well as exploration of the universe and the origin of humanity.
