CZ: Bitcoin will surpass gold's market cap in the next bull run
Odaily星球日报讯 Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said in August 2025 that Bitcoin's price could reach $1 million by 2030; a year later, after a price decline of about 30%, he revised his forecast down to $300,000–$400,000.
Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) said in October 2025 that Bitcoin would surpass gold, but did not provide a timeline. This week, after Bitcoin rose 27% in two weeks, he stated that Bitcoin will surpass gold's market cap in the next bull run and that the $1 million target will be achieved earlier than 2025.
CZ said in November 2022, when Bitcoin was near $16,000, that it was not dead, and predicted a bull market in 2025 in 2023; his supercycle judgment for 2026 was later not realized.
