On the evening of January 30, Beijing time, Starknet performed a several-hour stress test on the Goerli test network. During the test, a total of 247,512 contract interaction operations marked as claim were executed.

KOL CryptoTraalala.stark, who has been tracking the dynamics of the Starknet community for a long time, said that this may mean that the final number of STRK airdrop addresses will be less than 200,000, because a stress test smaller than the actual airdrop interaction scale is meaningless, and the purpose of the test is to verify The networks ability to withstand sudden traffic, if Starknet plans to airdrop to 500,000 addresses, then they will not only test 240,000 interactions.

As the potential airdrop project that attracts the most attention from the community, Starknet has been frequently ridiculed as only thunder, no rain and even ridiculed users as electronic beggars... But in fact, in the past month or so, Starknet has actually carried out discussions on STRK. After multiple rounds of clear testing work, we can also see from these testing progress that STRK is indeed getting closer.

STRK related news 1: Cross-chain transfer of STRK

On December 14 last year, community users discovered based on records on the Sepolia test network that Starknet had tested the cross-chain transfer of STRK from Layer 1 to Layer 2 through the test network.

  • Odaily Note: STRK on the Ethereum mainnet (Layer 1) was deployed more than a year ago, but except for some transfers for testing or governance needs, it has not been officially circulated. The contract address of STRK is 0xCa14007Eff0dB1f8135f4C25B34De49AB0d42766.

On the same day, users discovered that there were multiple transfers of STRK test coins on the Ethereum Sepolia test network that were the same as the main network STRK contract (starting with 0x ca 14). One of the transfers of 1234 STRK test coins was suspected to be from Layer 1 to Layer 2 cross-chain transfer.

Starknet Sepolia testnet data shows that a few minutes after the above transaction was confirmed, the address starting with 0x 0137 on the testnet immediately received 1,234 STRK test coins.

On December 26, more than ten days after the above-mentioned test, Starknet officially added the bridged_tokens file to the Github repository, which disclosed some STRK-related parameters on the Sepolia test network:

  • The STRK contract address of Layer 1 is 0xCa14007Eff0dB1f8135f4C25B34De49AB0d42766 (previously disclosed and consistent with the main network);

  • The STRK contract address on Layer 2 is 0x04718f5a0fc34cc1af16a1cdee98ffb20c31f5cd61d6ab07201858f4287c938d;

  • The STRK bridge contract address of Layer 1 is 0x6FE45BEFC2C0E0F619D5ccFB6fA4D40590f6bC53;

  • The STRK bridge contract address on Layer 2 is 0x0594c1582459ea03f77deaf9eb7e3917d6994a03c13405ba42867f83d85f085d.

On January 15, about a month after the experiment, community users discovered that Starknet had experimented with cross-chain transfer of STRK from Layer 1 to Layer 2 on the main network.

According to records on the Etherscan and Starkscan chains, there were first a number of small transfers of STRK tokens on the Ethereum mainnet at that time, and then multiple STRK transfers of the same amount appeared on Starkscan. It is suspected that the team was testing bridging STRK from Layer 1 to Layer 2 .

In addition, another proof that the transfer was a bridging operation is that the STRK token contract that appeared on the Starknet mainnet started with 0x 0471, which is consistent with the Sepolia testnet token contract disclosed by Starknet in the Github repository mentioned above.

STRK related news 2: gas support

On January 10, Starknet officially activated the major version upgrade of V 0.13.0. The main content of this upgrade is to add the V3 transaction type. The purpose is to enable the Starknet network to support some future functional upgrades, such as adding ETH in addition to ETH. STRK as gas token.

At that time, many people in the community misinterpreted the V 0.13.0 upgrade date as the date when STRK activated the gas attribute. However, Starknet later refuted the rumor and said: The V 0.13.0 upgrade covers the technology of using STRK as a gas token. Preparations are being made, but that does not mean that STRK can be used as gas now...the tracks have been laid, but the trains are not running yet.”

However, it seems that the date when STRK will officially activate the gas attribute will not be too far away - this morning, Starknet core developer antiyro shared an on-chain transaction and said that a transaction in block 524884 of the Starknet network used STRK A transaction that pays Gas fees, which means that the Starknet team has officially started testing this feature.

STRK related news three: testnet claim interaction

Compared with the first two major developments, community users may be more concerned about developments related to potential airdrops.

On January 26, community users discovered that Starknet performed multiple operations marked as claim on the test network, and was suspected of testing the STRK airdrop claim.

On the same day, Starknet announced that it would conduct a stress test on the Goerli testnet on January 30. At that time, some community users speculated that the main content of the test should be to check the networks stress-bearing capacity by executing a large number of potential claim interactions. Last nights chain The above data also confirmed this speculation.

Good news is coming?

Based on historical information, Starknet spent about a month from testing the STRK cross-chain from Layer 1 to Layer 2 on the test network (December 14) to conducting practical exercises on the main network (January 15). , and so on, this month Starknet has experimented with airdrop claims on the testnet, so what will be the story next month? Its hard not to think about this.

Finally, it needs to be emphasized that the content of this article is only a review of the dynamics related to the STRK token. No one knows when the good news will come, but judging from the exact testing process, this day is getting closer.
