At present, many mining machines on the market are assembled machines or OEM machines. Evelan recommends that you choose well-known brands. At the same time, the higher the configuration (memory, hard disk, etc.) and the stronger the storage capacity, the more FIL you can get.
Secondly, in terms of software, different manufacturers will most likely use different technical solutions to ensure data storage. For example, data backup can be realized, but the backup will waste storage space and computing power, directly affecting the output cost of FIL, and some small manufacturers have adopted more radical methods to artificially increase the efficiency of equipment operation and maintenance, but did not respond to system operation and maintenance The upgrades have caused some system failures, so a single technical solution is not suitable for all manufacturers, and strategies must be adopted according to their strengths.
Q2: In view of the recent high gas fee, will it affect the storage stability?
Since November, the gas fee of the Filecoin network has started to skyrocket. The high gas fee means that miners need to invest and destroy more circulating FIL to mine locked FIL. The cost of computing power packaging has risen sharply. Earnings fell.
Under such circumstances, miners, especially small miners, naturally dare not increase their computing power rashly. In this regard, Evelan gave an example to illustrate: even if the computing power does not continue to increase at a computing power below 200T, in fact, the submission of space-time proofs will require a large amount of FIL consumption, resulting in the daily mining income of miners being basically the same as the Gas consumption. Even losing money, small and medium-sized miners are in an extremely embarrassing situation.
From a cost point of view, the high gas fee has seriously affected the manufacturer's revenue and the future development of the Filecoin ecosystem. In this regard, the official is also actively looking for solutions, and has launched a temporary gas fee proposal to support the forced change of the consensus , these practices have played a huge role in the positive development of the IPFS distributed storage industry, and the proposal of the new proposal also enables small miners to realize that they are not affected by the sealing state and can obtain normal income every day, which is a powerful force for small and medium miners.
