🤔 Why does Aragon need judicial power?

Today, traditional entities can be well managed due to pre-existing social capital and solid legal safeguards that sanction wrongdoing. For example, members of a company can trust managers not to run away with money because the consequences would be dire if they did. But if a DAO member does something that crosses the line, the DAO organization usually doesn't have the resources to pursue it.

The Aragon courts and agreements will bring about a new kind of Internet community that empowers individuals with more freedom to make decisions and take actions, while ensuring that others in the community can properly moderate those actions. If members abuse their power in some way, and the dispute cannot be resolved by other means, it can be brought to the Aragon Court, where a jury can decide whether they should be punished.

🤔 How does it work?

The basic idea is that when an organization has to bring their dispute to the Aragon Court, the court will review and adjudicate the dispute with a small number of jurors randomly selected from among the jurors. If any party, including bystanders (remember, everything is completely transparent) thinks that more jurors would change the verdict, they can pay a fee, file an appeal, initiate another round more A verdict involving jurors. This process can be repeated until all members of the jury are involved in adjudicating the dispute.

You must activate at least 10,000 ANJ to be eligible to participate in adjudicating disputes as an Aragon court juror and receive rewards.
