Odaily reports: Cross-chain protocol Chainflip has disclosed that an attack targeting Tron USDT occurred yesterday. It has been confirmed that 736,442.17 USDT was stolen through 6 unauthorized payments, while another 115,654.41 USDT in user swaps remained in the vault due to failed payments. All other funds were unaffected.
Chainflip stated that the attacker exploited a vulnerability in the Tron transaction memo mechanism by attaching custom memos to transactions already signed by validators, causing the system to identify the same deposit as separate swaps and issue refunds again, ultimately resulting in duplicate payments. The attacker carried out 8 operations over approximately 90 minutes, gradually increasing the amounts. Chainflip said it has completed a fix and has flagged the stolen funds to relevant authorities in an attempt to recover them. The protocol is expected to resume operations as early as Monday and will be responsible for compensating affected users for their losses.
Odaily reports that Garrett Jin, proxy for the "1011 Insider Whale," posted on X that the current situation for Bitcoin bulls is "not very optimistic," and that he does not want BTC to continue staying above $76,500.
Garrett Jin believes that the longer the price stays at this level, the greater the likelihood that it will break below this support and seek support at lower levels; if BTC is to show a stronger trend, it needs to reclaim and hold above $78,300.
Odaily Reports - According to MSX.COM data, most of the U.S. AI sector fell in pre-market trading, with Nvidia dropping to $214.34, AMD dropping to $501.81, and Intel dropping to $99.33; Anthropic's pre-IPO over-the-counter contracts saw a 24-hour decline of 3.75% in corresponding market capitalization to $2.0783 trillion, while OpenAI's corresponding market capitalization fell 10.6% to $1.4391 trillion.
Previously, Anthropic and OpenAI rarely synchronized to "hit the brakes." Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei published a lengthy article stating that the AI industry must slow down the pace of improving model capabilities, but this does not mean stopping model training or technological progress—rather, it should ensure that companies have enough time for model alignment and safety protection. OpenAI founder Sam Altman agreed, saying "we need to control the progress of frontier models," and stated that OpenAI will also consider giving independent evaluators access similar to that of employees.
Odaily News: Citrini analyst Jukan shared a research report from Tianfeng Securities and stated that the US government needs to maintain its leading position in AI, so once it enters the AI race, it is very difficult to truly stop. Jukan believes that recent calls by Anthropic and OpenAI to slow down AI development cannot be viewed merely as safety initiatives; behind them may simultaneously lie multiple considerations, including the inability to slow the competition and the desire to entrench leading advantages through safety regulation.
Jukan further pointed out that the relevant "AI slowdown" calls ostensibly stem from safety testing, operational monitoring, and third-party verification being unable to keep pace with model iteration speed, which in the short term may suppress market sentiment in the AI sector and lower market expectations for next-generation models. Another possibility is that the industry remains bullish on AI in the long term but wants to postpone the next round of large-scale R&D investment, prioritize commercializing existing products, and reduce pressure on infrastructure and capital expenditure. He believes the AI race is essentially akin to a "prisoner's dilemma" — all parties want to slow down, but none dares to be the first to stop, lest they lose their technological, customer, and financing advantages.
Jukan also noted that Anthropic and OpenAI's recent emphasis on recursive self-improvement (RSI) is related to AI having already begun assisting in the development of next-generation AI, accelerating model iteration speed. Meanwhile, in OpenAI's internal testing, incidents reportedly occurred in which Agents collaborated to escape the sandbox and intrude into Hugging Face production servers. Jukan believes that as model releases require bearing expensive evaluation, certification, and continuous auditing costs, large labs are better positioned to absorb these fixed costs, while smaller teams may face higher barriers to entry as a result. If leading labs further participate in setting evaluation standards, industry barriers may continue to rise.

Odaily News: Cathie Wood posted on X platform that David Sacks believes recent reports claiming "AI will destroy humanity" may have been orchestrated. She noted that the related statements originally came from a long-dormant X account belonging to an Anthropic employee who left the company just 6 weeks after joining, after which the content quickly entered mainstream media. David Sacks also named the parties involved in the related events and criticized the role played by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ). Cathie Wood stated that all technologies can be used for malicious purposes, and she believes that people like Elon Musk—who are not participants in a political conspiracy but consistently emphasize the potential risks of AI—are playing a positive role. "Half of solving a problem, including AI, is understanding the problem."
Odaily News: Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi said in a media interview today (September 13) that the meeting to be held in Oman on September 14 will focus on a new maritime passage within the Strait of Hormuz. Iran will then introduce to participating countries the details of the relevant agreement reached between Iran and Oman and the roadmap for the new passage. Araghchi stressed that the agreement between Iran and Oman does not mean the Strait of Hormuz will reopen. The prerequisite for Iran to reopen the strait is that the United States fulfills its commitments under the "Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding."
Iran believes that the responsibility for maintaining regional security and stability should be borne entirely by regional countries. The Iranian side hopes that this dialogue can create conditions for regional countries to hold consultations on issues of common concern in the future. (CCTV International News)

Odaily Report: Two people familiar with the matter revealed that U.S. President Trump met with advisers to discuss a government ethics provision being considered for inclusion in the Crypto Market Structure Act (the CLARITY Act). The meeting took place ahead of the Senate's procedural vote next Tuesday, which will determine the fate of the CLARITY Act's advancement. Senate Democrats are demanding that the legislation include ethics language applicable to government officials to limit Trump's ability to profit from his family's crypto business. It remains unclear what the outcome of the meeting was or which advisers attended. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Saturday evening.
The ethics provision has been one of the key obstacles facing the CLARITY Act in the Senate, following clear bipartisan disagreements over whether enforcement authority should rest with the Department of Justice or state attorneys general. Next Tuesday's procedural vote will test whether the two parties can reach a compromise on this core dispute before the Senate recesses. (politicopro)
Odaily News: South Korea's digital asset institutionalization process this week once again focused on two major directions: legislation and infrastructure development. According to South Korean Democratic Party lawmaker Min Byeong-deok (민병덕), speaking at a seminar, the "Digital Asset Basic Act" will be pushed for enactment within the year, with a public hearing planned for this month, and formal legislative review to commence in November after the completion of the parliamentary audit. However, considering that the National Assembly will still conduct parliamentary audits and budget reviews and other procedures, the legislative timeline may also be delayed to the first half of next year. In addition, South Korea's Financial Services Commission has announced a phased implementation roadmap for security tokens (STO), and financial institutions are also advancing tokenization system testing and global infrastructure cooperation. South Korea's digital asset regulation is gradually shifting from institutional discussion to the implementation preparation stage. (MK)
