Odaily: Bitcoin News posted on X that Spaces has launched "Trust Anchor," allowing apps to directly verify human-readable identities based on Bitcoin without relying on centralized servers. Users can obtain a single Trust ID and scan or paste it into Spaces-compatible apps to verify identity identifiers such as alice@bitcoin based on locally verified Spaces protocol state. The Trust ID is generated from the Bitcoin block header chain and Spaces cumulative state; the Veritas app on macOS can generate this ID without running a Bitcoin full node, and users can also connect their own node or generate the same Trust ID through the Spaces client. The solution aims to use Bitcoin as the foundation of a decentralized certificate authority, enabling apps to authenticate identities without trusting corporate servers.

Odaily reports: David Ripley, Co-CEO of U.S. cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, stated that Europe has taken a more pragmatic approach to crypto regulation, with the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) providing clarity on market rules. In contrast, the U.S. regulatory environment is more adversarial.
Ripley noted that the CLARITY Act has been slow to advance, with related efforts ongoing for years. He believes that if the U.S. continues to delay pushing forward crypto regulatory legislation, it may cede its leadership in financial innovation to the European Union.
Kraken obtained a MiCA license from the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) in June 2025, allowing it to operate across all 30 member states of the European Economic Area (EEA). (Bitcoin.com News)

Odaily reports: SlowMist Chief Information Security Officer 23pds has stated that attackers are exploiting the Darksword vulnerability to bypass iOS security mechanisms through Safari, take control of devices, and extract private keys and other data from self-custodial crypto wallets. The vulnerability was previously used in attacks targeting users in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Malaysia, and Ukraine.
Google Threat Intelligence Group previously disclosed that Darksword initially only affected iOS versions 18.4 through 18.7. According to 23pds, attackers have now adapted it to iOS 26.5, though this assessment has not yet been officially verified.
Attacks typically begin with social engineering. After users click on malicious links sent via social media or messaging apps, their devices may be rooted and wallet data extracted. Users should promptly update their phone's operating system and avoid visiting website links sent by strangers. Separately, three investors who lost nearly $1.8 million in Bitcoin after downloading fake wallet apps from Apple's official App Store have filed a lawsuit against Apple. (Bitcoin.com News)
