Solana Governance Vulnerability Fixed, Did Not Affect Passage of SGP-0002 Proposal
Blockchain security research firm Asymmetric Research disclosed that Solana's on-chain governance program svmgov previously had a vulnerability: when validators did not participate in voting, independent votes submitted in advance by their delegators might not be counted in the final result. The vulnerability was reported to the Solana Foundation on July 10 and fixed on mainnet on August 3, ahead of the August 24 governance vote. Based on on-chain data, Asymmetric Research estimated that had the vulnerability not been fixed, the approval rate of the SGP-0002 proposal—aimed at accelerating the decline of SOL inflation—could have dropped from the actual 67.00% to 66.65%, below the 66.67% passage threshold. The vulnerability was fixed before the vote and did not actually change the proposal's outcome.

Citi Research published a report stating that viewing Aave merely as a crypto-native lending protocol is no longer sufficient. As tokenized assets, stablecoins, and institutional participation gradually enter mainstream finance, Aave is poised to become a decentralized collateral liquidity protocol connecting tokenized assets and financing. The report notes that Aave V4, Horizon, and GHO all point toward the intersection of collateral, liquidity, and financing; as tokenization expands from stablecoins to money market funds, private credit, Treasuries, and eventually equities, collateral circulation could become one of the key use cases of tokenization.
