An account purchased $600,000 worth of "Democrats will not control both the Senate and House after the 2026 midterms"

PPP prediction market tool monitoring shows that in the Polymarket "2026 US Midterm Elections Congressional Control" prediction event, an account with cumulative losses of $82,500 (0x7466793f482f3599d9ca64c38f3c947b554f49dc) purchased $600,000 worth of "Democrats will not control both the Senate and House after the 2026 midterms," with an average entry price of 27.8¢ and 2,450,422.3 shares purchased.

The 2026 US midterm elections will officially be held on November 3, 2026. According to the resolution rules, this market will resolve based on which party—the Democrats or the Republicans—controls the Senate and the House of Representatives after the 2026 US midterm elections.

In principle, a party gains control of either chamber by obtaining a majority of voting seats. If no party obtains a majority of seats in the Senate, control is awarded to the party that holds half the seats and the US Vice Presidency; if this remains unclear, control is determined by the party affiliation of the first-elected President pro tempore of the new Congress. If no party obtains a majority of seats in the House, control is determined by the party affiliation of the first-elected Speaker of the House of the new Congress.
