NFT Project Robin Guards Questions Crypto KOLs Over Fake Marketing: 200 KOLs with Tens of Millions of Followers, Only 200 NFTs Sold in Promotion

Odaily: NFT project Robin Guards posted on X, publicly questioning that the 200 crypto KOLs it previously collaborated with engaged in buying fake followers, inflating engagement through mutual-like groups, and using AI-generated comments. The project stated that the partnered KOLs had a combined follower count exceeding 10 million, yet only 200 NFTs were ultimately sold, representing a conversion rate of approximately 0.002%. After the project refused to continue paying promotion fees, some KOLs who had previously participated in the promotion began accusing the project of fraud in return.

Robin Guards further alleged that some KOLs had purchased fake followers and engagement data through third parties in order to charge the project promotion fees, and named the relevant accounts demanding public responses. The project stated it has obtained relevant screenshots and evidence, and reminded other project teams to focus on verifying accounts' actual reach, the quality of comment section engagement, and historical promotion conversion data before collaborating with KOLs, rather than judging promotional effectiveness solely based on follower counts and view numbers.
