Goldman Sachs CEO denies resignation rumors: No leadership transition plans or timeline currently in place
Odaily News: Goldman Sachs Group CEO David Solomon downplayed recent rumors about a possible leadership transition at the company, calling them just "noise." Goldman Sachs Chief Operating Officer John Waldron has long been seen as a potential successor to Solomon.
Recent reports suggested that Solomon could step down as early as next year, bringing the timing of Goldman Sachs' leadership transition back into the market spotlight. Speaking Tuesday on an earnings call with analysts, Solomon said: "Let me be clear — there is no succession transition currently underway at Goldman Sachs, nor is there a timeline for one. The board and I are fully focused on the company's growth strategy and on continuing to deliver exceptional service to our clients." He added that he is pleased with the company's progress, which has made him enjoy his work even more.
