Analysis: Robinhood Stock Tokens "Supercharge" Meme Coins, Daily Trading Volume Peaks at $440 Million

Odaily News — Robinhood stock tokens are emerging as a new type of liquidity asset for Meme coin trading. Robinhood stock tokens are digital securities that track individual stocks and are backed 1:1 by the corresponding shares held by a custodian. Because these tokens can circulate in the open crypto market, traders can pair them with Meme coins in liquidity pools and swap directly between them — a model that turns equity exposure into "raw material" for onchain speculative trading.

Bloomberg, citing Dune data, reported that daily trading volume for stock token–Memecoin pairs briefly reached approximately $440 million in early September before rapidly declining. According to RWA.xyz data, some popular stock tokens track the S&P 500 ETF, Nvidia, SpaceX, and Meta, among others, with their combined market capitalization at one point reaching approximately $69 million.

Overall, this phenomenon on Robinhood Chain is being reported as another use case for tokenized stocks: traditional equity exposure is beginning to merge with Meme coins, liquidity pools, and onchain speculative trading, while some trading prices may deviate significantly from the underlying real stocks. At the same time, the U.S. regulatory environment has begun to provide some room for tokenized stock trading — the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has previously granted temporary exemptions for onchain tokenized U.S. stock trading under certain conditions.
