Broadcom Reportedly Plans to Raise $60 Billion in AI Chip Financing
Odaily News: According to people familiar with the matter, Broadcom's (AVGO.O) Wall Street syndicate is beginning to raise a new round of $60 billion in AI chip financing to support companies including Anthropic. Banks participating in this massive debt financing package are preparing to send syndication invitations to investors for a $42 billion Class A senior secured debt offering. Blackstone is leading a $18 billion Class B subordinated debt financing and plans to commit $9 billion through various funds under its umbrella, with the remaining portion to be syndicated.
This financing package has been in the works for several weeks. Industry insiders on Wall Street and in Silicon Valley are closely watching the deal, hoping to confirm whether investors are still willing to fund AI infrastructure expansion. Broadcom is seeking to sell more chips and other data center equipment to compete with Nvidia, while AI companies like Anthropic need increasingly more computing power. People familiar with the matter said in August that this potential deal would help companies including Anthropic obtain chips and other critical AI infrastructure.
