Loss of $1.248 Million: Hyperliquid Whale Boomer Cuts Losses on $31.1 Million Altcoin Long Positions, Then Pivots to Shorting ZEC and NEAR

Odaily News: Hyperliquid whale Boomer (X: solanadoomer1) closed long positions on 10 altcoins including ZEC, NEAR, UNI, HYPE, PUMP, ENA, AERO, ONDO, SKY, and PENGU this morning, with a total position size exceeding $31.1 million. The closures were primarily loss-cutting exits, with a combined loss of approximately $1.248 million, while only PUMP posted a small profit. About 5 minutes after closing the ZEC long position, Boomer began shorting ZEC and NEAR.

Currently, Boomer holds approximately $9.707 million in ZEC and NEAR short positions. Among these, the ZEC short is worth about $8.237 million, comprising 6,000 ZEC at an average entry price of $1,421.4, with an unrealized profit of approximately $291,000; the NEAR short is worth about $1.47 million, comprising approximately 322,100 NEAR at an average entry price of $4.63, with an unrealized profit of approximately $24,000.

Boomer stated that ZEC may have already topped out in the short to medium term, and could first pull back to around $1,000, then enter another rally after several weeks of consolidation; he still considers $5,000 to $10,000 a reasonable subsequent target.
