Tether holds $114.96 billion in U.S. Treasuries as Trump administration considers overseas stablecoin plan

Odaily News: According to people familiar with the matter, the Trump administration is considering an overseas stablecoin plan that could take the form of a joint venture with private companies, with the Treasury Department, the State Department, and the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) all potentially involved, in order to expand the use of the dollar and support demand for U.S. Treasuries.

Tether's latest reserves report shows that as of June 30, it directly held $114.96 billion in U.S. Treasuries, with total reserve assets of $187.75 billion, exceeding liabilities by $4.11 billion. The plan has not yet established a partnership with Tether, nor has it become a formally operational project.
