Focus shifts to SEC rulemaking as Citi says Bitcoin rally unaffected by bill setback
Odaily News: Citi stated that the U.S. Senate's failure to advance the CLARITY Act into formal consideration did not interrupt Bitcoin's rally. After the procedural vote on the bill was blocked, Bitcoin remained strong, with market attention now shifting to whether the SEC can advance rulemaking on trading, tokenized assets, and market access under its existing authority.
Citi noted that the legislative setback will limit the CFTC's ability to obtain more complete crypto market regulatory authority in the near term. Its economics team believes this round of rate hikes may be close to a one-time move; the quantitative macro team warned that if AI investment continues to support growth and employment and wage pressures persist, interest rates may face further upward revision risks.
