Meta Launches Personal AI Agent Muse, with Monthly Fees up to $100

2026-09-09 00:09

Odaily News: Meta Platforms (META.O) has launched a personal AI agent app called Muse, allowing users to delegate digital tasks such as scheduling appointments, filling out spreadsheets, and monitoring home security cameras to AI assistants. Meta's Head of AI, Alexander Wang, stated that Muse is powered by Meta's Muse Spark series of foundation models and offers a free version as well as two subscription tiers at $20 and $100 per month. He noted that Muse runs within an isolated environment on Meta's computing infrastructure and does not read users' actual passwords or payment information, and will request confirmation before performing sensitive operations. Users can choose whether to allow Meta to use interactions with Muse to train AI models; if they opt in, Meta will remove key personally identifiable information before using the data for model improvements.

The product launch comes as Meta faces pressure related to AI safety, privacy concerns, and returns on AI investment. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has previously stated that personal AI agents will become a direction for the company's future product and revenue growth. Meta also revealed that it is exploring business models related to shopping transactions conducted through AI agents in the future.
