Iranian Speaker: Strait of Hormuz Should Be Jointly Managed by Iran and Oman

Odaily reported that Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that the Strait of Hormuz should be jointly managed by Iran and Oman. Ghalibaf made these remarks during a meeting with Iraqi Parliament Speaker Haibat Al-Halbusi. Regarding the management of the Strait of Hormuz, Ghalibaf noted that a recently signed memorandum of understanding with the United States stipulates that the strait should be jointly managed by Iran and Oman. He added that Iran is currently consulting with littoral states of the Persian Gulf, including Iraq, on this matter. (Xinhua News Agency)
