Zcash Ironwood Upgrade Mainnet Activation Expected to Occur Around July 21

Odaily reported that Zcash developer Sean Bowe posted on platform X, stating that significant progress has been made on the Zcash Ironwood upgrade. All consensus rule changes have been implemented and are currently in the audit phase. The relevant specifications and ZIP files have been released and are nearing their final state. The mainnet activation block height will be announced soon, with activation anticipated around July 21. The official testnet activation is planned for tomorrow, and the Zebra client supporting version is expected to be released today.

Sean Bowe stated that the timely and secure activation of Ironwood on the Zcash mainnet is crucial for users. The team is concurrently carrying out formal verification work to ensure there is no risk to supply integrity. Current hashrate signals indicate sufficient technical readiness. The main issue is that some wallets may not be ready for the upgrade in time. However, given that there will be ample alternative solutions and testnet time, this is not considered sufficient reason for a delay.
