SEMI: Global 300mm Fab Storage Equipment Investment Expected to Surpass $50 Billion for the First Time in 2026

According to SEMI's "300mm Fab Outlook Report," global investment in equipment for the storage segment of 300mm fabs is expected to surpass $50 billion for the first time in 2026, reaching $52 billion with a 29% increase. This is projected to grow by another 11% to $57 billion in 2027. Supported by increased investment in AI infrastructure, data centers, and next-generation computing systems, this growth reflects the ongoing AI-driven demand for advanced storage.

Looking ahead, SEMI expects global equipment investment in the 300mm fab storage segment to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 19% from 2024 to 2029. Global 300mm storage production capacity is also anticipated to continue increasing, reaching 4.1 million wafers per month in 2026 and 4.2 million wafers per month in 2027. (Jin Shi)
