Odaily Odaily reports that the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) today published the "2025 Asset and Wealth Management Activities Survey," revealing that Hong Kong, as a leading global asset and wealth management hub, performed exceptionally well in 2025. Total assets under management (AUM) increased by 20% year-on-year to a record high of HKD 42.2 trillion (USD 5.4 trillion).
This record-breaking AUM surpasses the 2021 high of HKD 35.5 trillion (USD 4.6 trillion), with growth partly driven by net capital inflows, which surged 193% year-on-year to HKD 2.1 trillion (USD 265 billion), marking the third consecutive year of increase. Across various sectors, AUM from asset management and fund advisory businesses rose by 19% year-on-year to HKD 31 trillion (USD 4 trillion), while AUM from private banking and private wealth management businesses saw a larger increase of 24% year-on-year to HKD 12.9 trillion (USD 1.7 trillion).
