Odaily Planet Daily News: Major South Korean banks are expanding their foreign exchange trading teams and strengthening their presence in Seoul and London in preparation for the upcoming near-24-hour foreign exchange market for the South Korean won. Woori Bank has sent an additional eight employees to its London office, covering roles in currencies, derivatives, and bond trading. Hana Bank has hired more traders in Seoul and implemented three-shift rotations to achieve round-the-clock coverage. Shinhan Bank and KB Kookmin Bank are also expanding their teams and upgrading their systems simultaneously. The near-24-hour foreign exchange trading system for the Korean won is scheduled to launch on July 6.
