Odaily reports that Federal Reserve Chairman Walsh said on Wednesday that both inflation expectations and inflation risks have declined in recent weeks; he also reiterated that the Fed is committed to bringing inflation down to its 2% target.
"In the first few weeks of this period, inflation expectations have pulled back, and inflation risks have consequently diminished," Walsh said. "If there is anyone in households, the business community, or financial markets who thinks the Fed will be comfortable with inflation running above 2%—well, they are in for a disappointment: we will ensure that the United States achieves price stability."
