Paradis Labs: GS expects South Korea to supply 30% of humanoid robot components by 2035
Odaily Odaily reported that Paradis Labs posted on X platform, stating that South Korea's humanoid robot supply chain is crucial to the upcoming increase in humanoid robot production.
GS expects that by 2035, 30% of humanoid robot components will come from South Korea, as the country's automotive industry experience can be translated into the production capacity for humanoid robot parts such as actuators. Actuators, which essentially mimic human muscles and joints, currently account for about 50% of a humanoid robot's bill of materials. South Korea holds an advantage in actuator production because the related technologies are similar to automotive component technologies, including power steering, braking systems, and autonomous driving technology.
GS noted that several South Korean automotive parts manufacturers have leveraged this experience to secure positions among the key non-Chinese suppliers for critical robot actuators.
Paradis Labs stated that in terms of exposure to the upstream humanoid robot sector, South Korea appears poised to play a significant role among the key non-Chinese suppliers of humanoid robots, while also securing a critical position in the AI supply chain through SK hynix and Samsung's memory businesses.
