According to Odaily Planet Daily, Ethereum's next hard fork, Fusaka, was successfully activated on the Hoodi testnet on Tuesday, the final step following the Holesky and Sepolia testnets earlier this month. Fusaka plans to undergo at least 30 days of testing before its mainnet launch, with core developers tentatively targeting December 3rd for its launch. The upgrade will improve Ethereum's scalability, efficiency, and security, including increasing block gas limits, expanding "blob" capacity, and introducing new node security features. The upgrade includes several Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs), including EIP-7594, which introduces PeerDAS technology, enabling validators to spot-check data fragments rather than complete blobs, thereby optimizing Layer 2 data availability. The Ethereum Foundation also launched a four-week security audit competition with a $2 million prize pool. The Fusaka hard fork comes approximately six months after Ethereum's last major upgrade, Pectra, and developers have begun planning for the next upgrade, Glamsterdam.
