SBI Crypto suffers suspected North Korean hacker attack, losing $21 million
2025-10-01 14:55

According to Odaily Planet Daily, a wallet address related to SBI Crypto, a subsidiary of Japanese financial giant SBI Group, experienced suspicious capital outflow on September 24, 2025, with an amount of approximately US$21 million.

The stolen funds included BTC, ETH, LTC, DOGE, and BCH. These funds were then transferred to five instant exchange platforms and then deposited into Tornado Cash for mixing. In a Telegram post, ZachXBT noted several similarities to previous North Korean state-sponsored cyberattacks, sparking concerns that this incident could be another North Korean-linked cryptocurrency theft.
