According to Odaily Planet Daily, Christine Kim, former Vice President of Research at Galaxy Digital, posted on the X platform that important decisions were made during today's Ethereum developer conference call, ACDC #165. Developers confirmed the public testnet schedule and the Fusaka BPO hard fork. The Fusaka mainnet upgrade is scheduled for Epoch 411392 on December 3rd of this year.
The Fusaka upgrade is reportedly the next major hard fork following the Pectra upgrade in May 2025. Focused on network scalability, efficiency, and resilience, it forms a core part of Ethereum's "Surge" phase. It aims to reduce Layer 2 (L2) rollup fees and increase overall throughput by optimizing data availability and validator responsibilities. Preliminary analysis of the Fusaka Devnet-5 suggests that blob capacity should more than double within two weeks of its launch.
