Odaily Planet Daily reported that NBA top star Tristan Thompson is working with Improbable CEO Herman Narula and its co-founder Hadi Teherany to announce the launch of the player tokenization platform basketball.fun on the Layer 1 blockchain Somnia, which was launched earlier this month. The platform can tokenize player value in real time.

Unlike traditional fantasy sports or fan tokens, the platform will tokenize NBA players, whose value fluctuates in real time based on sentiment and performance. Fans will be able to build rosters, predict rising talent, and earn rewards tied to their predictions and engagement.

The app will not launch with a native token, distancing itself from projects like Socios that rely on token prices. Instead, players will have an in-app value that reflects fan sentiment and match results.
