Russian experts suggest establishing a national crypto bank, following Belarus’ example

According to the Russian news agency TASS, Yevgeny Masharov, a legislative expert at the Russian Public Chamber of Commerce, has suggested that Russia follow Belarus's example and establish a national crypto bank. He stated that this move would help bring hundreds of billions of rubles worth of underground transactions into legal frameworks, increase federal budget revenue, and combat remote fraud and disrupt criminal financing channels. Masharov noted that the bank could provide Russian miners with a legal trading platform they currently lack. While Russia has passed some laws allowing the use of cryptocurrencies in foreign trade, domestic transactions remain legally elusive, creating an opportunity for criminals to exploit.
