Odaily News Ethereum's Pectra upgrade was launched on the Holesky testnet, but failed to complete final confirmation within the expected time. Pectra was activated at 05:55 (UTC+8) today, but blockchain data shows that its initial stage failed to achieve final confirmation. The Holesky testnet is used to simulate the Ethereum mainnet to test upgrades or new code. It is not clear why the Pectra upgrade failed to complete final confirmation, and Ethereum developers are discussing possible reasons.
The Pectra hard fork combines 11 major upgrade proposals, the core of which include EIP-7702 (aims to improve the user experience of crypto wallets) and EIP-7251 (allowing validators to increase the maximum stake from 32 ETH to 2,048 ETH). Holesky is the first test network to test Pectra, and the next test is scheduled for March 5 on the Sepolia test network. Developers may adjust subsequent plans based on the severity of this problem. Pectra was originally planned to be the largest upgrade of Ethereum to date, but because it was too complicated, developers decided to split it into two parts. (CoinDesk)
