OpenSea suspends airdrop rewards system after user backlash

Odaily News NFT marketplace OpenSea has suspended its new airdrop reward system following criticism from users about its mechanism. On January 28, the NFT marketplace began offering a beta version of its upgraded marketplace, OS2. Users can use new mechanisms such as points that will help them qualify for upcoming airdrops in the platform’s native token, SEA.
However, community members have expressed dissatisfaction with the platform's experience point (XP) system, saying it disadvantages builders, promotes fake transactions and prioritizes earning fees. In response to user feedback, OpenSea co-founder and CEO Devin Finzer announced that the platform will suspend XP listing and bidding rewards. (Cointelegraph)
