OP Labs releases upgrade proposal to fix security vulnerabilities found in third-party security audits

2024-08-17 15:37
Odaily News According to Optimism governance information, OP Labs protocol engineer Mofi released an upgrade proposal Granite Network Upgrade, which aims to address security vulnerabilities found by Spearbit, Cantina and Code4rena in a series of third-party security audits. None of the related vulnerabilities have been exploited and user assets have never been threatened. The proposal states that the upgrade will include a series of smart contract upgrades to fix the vulnerabilities found in the audit, as well as L2 hard forks to improve the stability and performance of the error-proofing system. Out of caution, a license fallback mechanism has been initiated to avoid any potential instability during the patching of the vulnerability. If the proposal is voted through, the Granite Network Upgrade is scheduled to take place at 16:00 UTC on September 10. The upgrade has been coordinated with Base and Conduit to launch on the internal development network and Sepolia Superchain.
