Odaily News Source @RippleXrpie disclosed information on X that the U.S. SEC has responded to Ripples letter on the Terraform Labs judgment and asked Ripple to pay a settlement of $102.6 million. It is expected that the two parties will reach a settlement soon. In this regard, Paul Grewal, chief legal officer of Coinbase, commented: The SEC believes that in the case of litigation, settlement has limited effect on determining relief measures. Yesterday, Ripple Labs lawyers tried to use the recent fine against Terraform Labs to strive to pay a lower fine in its case with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Ripple, which has been engaged in a lengthy legal battle with the SEC over the past few years, said in a supplementary authority notice on Thursday that the financial fine proposed by the regulator was unreasonable. The company compared the SECs proposed $2 billion fine for its sale of XRP to institutional investors with the fine against Terraform Labs. Ripple believes that its fine should be close to $10 million. On Wednesday, Terraform agreed to pay a $4.47 billion fine, and a judge approved the settlement late Thursday.
